We Have more experience and success than any other fitter

ERO Founder Jim Manton opened his Fit Studio in 2007, but has been fitting bikes far longer. Originally named Finalfit, Jim had already worked with athletes of all levels on their positions since the early 1990's. Since then, the vision that became ERO Sports has grown into a globally recognized brand with clients from all over the world.

  • 2007

Finalfit is opened in Fountain Valley, California by founder Jim Manton. It's reputation grew quickly as both age group and pro athletes began seeking Jim's fit expertise.

  • 2009

Triathlete Magazine recognizes Jim as one of the best fitters in the world working with top triathletes including Heather Jackson and Leslie Paterson.

  • 2012

The Fit Studio moves into VELO Sports Center and is the first in the world to use the Alphamantis Track Aero System for aerodynamic testing. Finalfit becomes ERO Sports.

  • 2015

To keep up with the ever-growing demand and long wait times, Missy Erickson begins fitting at ERO Sports. Jim begins working with the US Olympic Team for the Rio Olympics.

  • 2016

Missy Erickson moves east to Pennsylvania and opens our second ERO Sports location. ERO becomes bi-coastal! The US Women's Pursuit Team wins Silver in Rio, and Amber Neben wins the World Time Trial Championship.

  • 2019

ERO Sports, now the world-wide leader in bike fit and aero testing, becomes the exclusive North American user of the AeroLab aero sensor allowing outdoor aero testing measuring aerodynamic drag with yaw. ERO athlete, Chloe Dygert, wins the Time Trial World Championship becoming the 21st World Champion ERO had fit and/or aero tested.

Bike Fit Should be a Combination of Science, Technology, and Art.

Our Fit Philosophy

Dynamic Bike Fit

Our fit process is very dynamic, and one that's been developed over several years. We don't believe in taking measurements and then solely relying on math equations, or packaged software, to tell us how a person should fit to a bike, nor do we believe that every person should be fit to their bike exactly the same way. It's not about some generic fit everyone should have, it's about finding your best position.

We believe bike fit should be a combination of science, technology, and art. Science tells us how the body works, technology is utilized to make sure the body is performing correctly, and the art of bike fit comes from the ability to communicate, instruct, and understand that sometimes the "rules" have to be broken, or at least bent a little, to allow for the uniqueness of each client. The art of bike fit cannot be taught - only experience can turn a bike fitter into an artisan.

It Shouldn't Hurt!

We enjoy quite the reputation for helping cyclists who are experiencing pain, numbness, or discomfort on their bikes. In order to provide such help, a fitter must be able to understand the client's history with a particular issue, identify the causation, and develop a strategy for successfully correcting the fit issue contributing to the problem. Through anatomical and physiological education, study of issues relating specifically to cycling, and experience, our clients have come to trust that they're in safe hands when they bring pain or discomfort issues to us.

Here's the shouldn't hurt to ride your bike. Not you knees, not your back, not your hands or shoulders. None of that is normal. And, your saddle should be comfortable! Yes, that's possible - with the correct position.

It's Not About Sales

We don't believe bike fit should be about selling products.  We are not traditional retailers; yes we have stems, saddles, and limited fit-related products we need to complete the service, but we otherwise have nothing to sell you. We make sure you get a bike that's not only great, but perfect for you and your cycling needs.

The unfortunate truth is, bikes shops see bike fit as a sales tool. How much can they sell you under the guise of bike fit? More importantly, what can they sell you that's in stock? They want to turn over their inventory and sell you products they have on the sales floor whether it's what's best for you or not. At ERO, it's not about up-selling, it's about making sure you spend your money wisely and get the most out of your investment. Because of our unique business model, there's no benefit to us recommending any particular brand of bike or bike part - we simply want the best for you.
